Re: So I finished Into The Woods
Date: 2010-12-30 05:53 pm (UTC)I basically de-railed myself from epic recs by locating
ANYWAY.
I read Hand Me Down, which I loooooved (and kind of identified with maybe a little/a lot because holy shit that was SO my first year in Chicago. The shitty apartment. Not under the bridge. BUT IT WAS CLOSE.), and I reread the high school au one she did in comment-fic with SPENCER SMITH, ARE YOU GAY YET!?!? because ohgod just. I can't even.
And then all the porn.
Re: So I finished Into The Woods
Date: 2010-12-31 02:16 am (UTC)YAY I'm glad you liked HMD, that's one of my favorites of hers. ♥ Have you read Accidentally In Love, too? That's another one of hers I really like. I like all her stuff, really.
Re: So I finished Into The Woods
Date: 2010-12-31 09:17 am (UTC)Yeah, I really liked it, actually. Like, it was heavy enough without being gross, you know? She does that well. I appreciate it.
Its funny you mention that one, because it was right there next on my list. And I loved it. Of course. Especially the whole, "You're my favorite" conversation. And just. All of it. O HAI MR BECKETT. MR SAPORTA.
Of course, all of her Beckett cameos. They are abundant and perfect and I think it's hilarious how even if she doesn't mention his name, it's like REALLY FUCKING OBVS. Oh, speaking of which- ages back you mentioned how William Beckett is in a lot of period-piece fic? (I mean, duh. Seriously.) I'm curious.
Re: So I finished Into The Woods
Date: 2010-12-31 09:59 pm (UTC)Hmmmm, well, as I recall after poking through my TAI fics, that was mainly based on reading this fic (I found it kind of meh simply because it was SO MULTI-BANDOM that it was getting into bands that I had no idea who anyone was, so I had a harder time getting into it - but Beckett's central in it and it's cute, so I'd recommend checking it out, at least.).
And I guess I actually do have a few other Beckett recs:
Spread is a nice character piece, and is AU.
A Little More Room To Live - is a halfway-decent high school AU (>D).
And for my grand finale, Reni Days once wrote this AWESOMESAUCE commentfic thing that was sorta like a bandom-riff in the style of the musical episode of Buffy. YEP. It's friends-locked now sadly but I archived a copy, thankfully. It's short but full of amazing, and Beckett's in it.
[TAI recs quickref]
Date: 2010-12-31 10:26 pm (UTC)OH. MYGAWD. Okay, I'm going to read the Reni fic while I paint my nails later. Just. Buffy. Once More With Feeling. OhgodYES. And on that note, please please tell me you've read what I'm referring to now as THIS IS MY FAVORITE FANFIC EVER (-R. Ross).
Oh hey, and. Cheesy, silly bandfic is like, possibly the best thing EVER to use as a breather for reading psychotherapy research journals until 6am. This is going to serve me invaluably in grad school. I predict it.
no subject
Date: 2010-12-31 10:40 pm (UTC)CAN I PLEASE HAVE MP3'S/VIDEOS OF ALL THE LISTED SONGS? PLEASE?
And Beckett's role in it all is a little... perfect. Idek. He's totally a wizard. A really fucking dumb one, but regardless.
He rode the short train to Hufflepuff HouseOh. Oh fuck no. I'm not going to write this. Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck.
