I feel... lighter.
Apr. 11th, 2007 02:49 amI've been actually feeling considerably more human lately. I hate that I've developed this dread of Adv. Inking. I have no idea where it comes from. The girl, Laura, that I sit next to is nice. The other people are fine, the prof is good, the work is... meh. I guess it'll get better the second half of the quarter when I actually get to start inking other people's work. Right now it's ink sketch after ink sketch and the same subject matter and everything. Dull.
Pencil/Ink II is great. We did the crit for the first pencils today. They're due inked by the 19th, and it's only 3 pages. I wanna see how much I can do this weekend. I was up til 7am this morning doing two freaking panels of the last page. It looks... heh. Yeah. The response was almost maquette-grade. For my pencils. My pencils. ...This is me gloating... Yeah, Star Wars metropolitan cityscapes pwn. And Pranas is gonna lend me a Stormtrooper action figure for reference because he rocks.
Manga is weird. The guys are such drama cases, the girls are all chill. Should be fun to watch, since I'm on good terms with two of the opposing guys and keep getting all these fun little tidbits of gossip. It's really hard for me not to start playing double agent... Oh wait, yes it is. NO drama, thank you. Had my yearly quota full up and all that.
Also? This cold snap? IT CAN STAY. Fuck, I don't enjoy the idea of biking to and from class in that heat. Nnnnnngh. At least Courtney is into rooming this summer, which means that with Joe, rent'll be like, $230/person including utilities and cable and crap. Provided we decide on that place, and I sorta hope we do.
In other news, the little Easter thing we did was really nice. Almost a whole day off homework, just cooking all day and dying eggs. Chris and I made and egg tree Saturday night. I blew out a dozen eggs and we used my fine sable brushes and Deleter 4 to ink designs on them. It was funny. I did one with a picture of one of our flowers and then colored it with watercolor, It's so pretty! My other one has kung fu crabs. There was a ton of food, I made hot crossed buns and like, everything else. Chris made this amazing peach and raspberry pie and his requisite cornbread.
I'm really happy my workload is still manageable. Jen and I spent about six hours in the living room, talking and watching random TV and talking about... everything. I love my room mates. Ashley is doing some project that requires her to make the most heinous looking props out of Play Doh or some crap, it's really unappetizing, but funny.
