I was supposed to start working aaages ago. But no. Chris came in to grab Season 1 of Rome and ended up just leaving now. Turns out, we were both avoiding (for like, six months) talking about our online RP comms because we figured the other would find it painfully dorky.
...Go figure.
Not to say that we aren't both painfully dorky, but... at least there is mutual understanding. :D
Ray's class was interesting today. We were looking at storyboards for animations and taking notes on aspect ratio and framing and all that technical crap that intimidates me. Anyway, we got to see the storyboards for this Batman animated short called "Chase Me" which is all pantomime, no sfx or voices, but like, this horrendously mismatched cheap porn music. So it starts with Batman at this social event and all these "hot chicks" (as Goto referred to them as) keep surrounding him and trying to get him to dance, and Bruce looks utterly terrified and scandalized and eventually gets Alfred to lure them away with some food, at which point Ray (who had already been making all the cracks at Batman pining for Robin he possibly could) announced Batman having escaped with his gayness in tact. There was a lot of cackling in today's class.
Ray is also in charge of the bus to Megacon in Orlando on the 16th, and the new bus company SCAD is contracting with are a bunch of asshats, so we don't know what's going on. Argh. Chris, Steve, and I are planning to go, hell or high water. We're dorks so we're going in costume, but the catch is, I'm going as the most classy Inara I can muster and they're going as the Two By Two, Hands of Blue (do they have another title? Educate me.), so basically I tug my shirt down and they take their gloves off and hellooooo, job interviews/whatever. Megacon doesn't have the editor's panel I'm expecting at Comic Con, but there will be lots of pros there and you know, contact-bond-forming and all that stuff. I hope it works out. The SCAD plus side is that if we get the bus, it's just one day, one low rate, no hotels or bs to deal with.
Oh, and we got our new room mate. Courtney. She seems nice enough. Very Southern. But sweet. I just need to figure out where on earth she's keeping her toiletries because it's sort of freaking me out that there's no towel, toothbrush, shampoo/conditioner/soap, razor, or washcloth or anything around the bathroom area.
...Except one half-empty bottle of handsoap.
Riiiiiight.
Oh, and before anyone tries to give me the, "You're at art school, maybe she doesn't bathe" line, no. My major is the one that's never heard of hygiene. She's photo/design. And she looks... cleanish.
...Go figure.
