IT ACTED LIKE WINTER TODAY! It was so exciting. Me and Chris were walking home going, "Holy shit, it is cold! ...FUCKING FINALLY!" And I did a little dance. He's too cool for that, apparently. Annnyway. The first week of class blew hard because I finally managed to drive Joe to the point of actually leaving when I told him to and dating someone else. For a whole week. I was panicking after twelve hours (we drove down from NYC together and he dropped me at the dorm and went back to see her in Statesboro). After two days I'd grown up enough to swallow my pride and grovel and at five I'd convinced him to come out here and talk. After he got here it took forty-five seconds to get my point across. I don't think I was ever actually content with him before now. It's like I'm in an entirely different relationship and it is... bizarre. But nice. Very nice.
In other non-relationshipy stuff... Hrrr. Okay, classes are cool. Comic Book Lettering and Typography, which is the grad/senior elective this quarter that I somehow ended up in is... fun. We have Duncan who is ten kinds of awesome. It's really laid back so far which is good because Goto who I have for Character Design and Storyboarding for Animation is HARDCORE. I mean, nicest guy ever and has a thing for calling dumb people "gonads", but yeah. We turned in our third huge project today and I haven't even had one to turn in yet for the other classes. The first one is tomorrow for Lettering. But it's the most fun class I've had in maybe ever, so no complaints here. We're starting our maquettes this weekend. Basically, we designed an original character and did a 5-point turnaround of them (that was the thing due today) and now we're making a sculpy maquette of them. I'm using my oldest head-voice, Corvus. He looks... scary. :D The third class is Pencil and Inking with Gildersleeve (again). So far, not bad at all.
Not like you guys care about all of that...
Oh! But I finally got to take in my stuff that Lyle gave me over break to show him and he really liked them and was quite impressed by the Batman one which pleases me greatly yes. And more than I care about impressed, I think he was actually impressed in such a way that implies he thinks I might actually get work someday.
Other than that... I managed to get Ashley addicted to Doctor Who in a bad way. We watched two eps of 9 on Monday night, two more on Tuesday, and then 5-13 last night. It was so much fun. I can't wait for her to see more of 10. We've also been watching Scrubs like woah and last Saturday night we had a dorkfest and watched The Little Mermaid and sang along. Especially to Ursula's song which we both know by heart.
Okay, this thing is long enough for now.

Character Design and Storyboarding for Animation is a SEQA class right? It sounds an awful lot like Animation Layout and Character Design (ANIM), which I'm in now. We have to design two characters, and do turnarounds & expressions for them, then lay them out on a character sheet. I think the final project will be a maquette. But before that, we have to do a bunch of layout stuff. Guh, the character sheets are due Thursday, and I don't have much done. >_>;;

So, what's the situation with Joe? I know that things were riled up last quarter, but are you guys just friends now?

Goto is a slavedriver. The maquette armature is due Tuesday. :D I love that class. It's way entertaining and I actually think it's either required or a studio elect for Animation people. I know we have a couple in our section.
We're back together. I'm not so sure how worried we are about status, but we're happy. I've given up trying to understand the situation.

OKAY yeah you're right, I need to post more. I've just been soooo antisocial lately and now I'm desperately working on scraping some sort of social scene together (minimally) just so if stuff like with Joe happens again I don't freak out quite like I did...
And yeah, we're back together and actually happy for once. Go figure.
