lllookalive: (i feel pretty)

I don't really have anything important to say, but I was really really dumb this morning and drank coffee (my mom made some and then forgot it) and now I feel like I'm full of sentient pingpong balls and I'm having a hard time sitting still and breathing. YAAAY. When I'm rich, I'm gonna hire two flunkies to follow me around and smack me a good one every time I even think about drinking coffee or soda.
I just had a massive cleaning spree and I'm trying to figure out what there is to do around here that doesn't involve my heart turning into a humming bird. BWAHAHAH.
So far, the two main accomplishments of my day aside from caffinating myself stupid have been calling Orbitz and United Airlines and trying to move my departure date up from September 8 to sometime in late August. However, this year people are asshats and want to charge me between $115-130 to change it, unlike last year when it was about as easy as sneezing. Honestly, though, I'm kinda glad. After this summer, I'll have about a month during winter break to be here before going to Oahu with Ange for my birthday which was arranged because last year SUCKED. i.e. I left for Savannah on January 2- the same day she got in from Oahu. Exactly twelve hours apart. BLARGH. But we shall thwart that this year. It's gonna be weird not being with my mom for my birthday, though. We're just gonna do it early. ANYWAY tangent. I'm here til September 8, which means I'll have sooo much time to just hang by myself and do whatever which is kinda bad for a twenty-year-old but OHDAMNWELL the last four quarters at SCAD will probably kill me in retribution anyway. Might as well make up for them ahead of time.
...Circular logic, wow.
Not to mention, I'm gonna bust my butt to get a job once I get back from winter break, so I'll have money for Comic Con next summer. I WILL HITCHHIKE IF I HAVE TO, DAMMIT. It's sort of the light at the end of the tunnel as far as taking a summer quarter in Savannah-Of-The-Death-Heat AFTER I graduate. I'll skip a couple days of class and hang out with a bunch of comic nerds on the West Coast, rather than the horde I see every day at class on the East Coast. *snickers* Anyway. I also have Spring Break to scrape funds for, so I can visit Ange in Walla Walla. *tantrum*
ANOTHER TANGENT, GEEZ.

Second accomplishment of the day is reading a bunch more House of Leaves. Heheh. I was waiting for it to start eating people. Chompy chompy, Mr.Monster nyahah.
Ange and me were lying on the grass reading over the weekend and she eventually stopped reading her own book just to watch me read House because apparently I make amusing faces. I just finished chapter XIII. I miss Holloway. He was funny. Especially after he started running around and shooting things. And it occurs to me how twisted that sounds in context, but oh well. Joe keeps giving me these withering "I'm so much better than you and your strange head" looks because I'm marking all the typos in red flags. Bah. I don't know if it was on purpose, but there's actually a pattern emerging.
HOLY CRAP I NEED TO SHUT UP.

For the record, I haven't had any significant caffeine intake since September 2004 because of the kidney stone, so my tolerance sort of died. ...In my defense. Because I know this was a giant ramble. Either that, or I've been reading too many footnotes.

On Comic Con, I saw a Marriot down the street here somewhere. I'll find the address for the sucker and send it to you if you want it in advance. I also kind of want to get a booth at artist's alley next year, and I could do with a booth jockey...

THE PART WHERE THE HOUSE EATS PEOPLE IS THE BEST. ♥

From: [identity profile] look-alive.livejournal.com
Oooh, you're awesome! Is Marriot really expensive, tho? For some reason I remember it being. Since I don't have a job, right now my only savings are coming from odd jobs and stuff I'm doing and anything that's left at the end of the month from my $420 child support from my dad. BAH. Oh ho ho! Artists alley is a good thing... What exactly does booth jockeying entail? ...As if I'm gonna say no.

AHAH I KNOW! IT'S LIKE, CHOMP! AND THEN BLEED! AND THEN WHOOOOOOO *anomatopoetic falling noises and hand-gestures*

Oh, and Hunter S. Thompson's input in Karen's What Some Have Thought was fantastic.

I'm not really sure how expensive Marriot is, but it probably is. It's there, though, and I'll keep looking for ones whenever we go out driving. I know there are a couple near where my mom used to live, but those are mostly Hiltons and whatnot. ...I guess run around and get stuff? Which really wouldn't matter since the booths for that are tiny, but I want to pretend to be all important, dammit.

AND THEN THE FLOOR IS ALL RAAAAAAAWR TILT and made me not want to walk in the living room after reading that part.

Yeah, that part kind of made me crack up and go, "...Well, wow."

Wow, thank you! Any hotel scavenging will be seriously appreciated. You said there was somewhere a bit out of town they may be cheaper, too, right? *hopeful* Heheeeee I would be happy to be the enabler unto your importance!! Besides, otherwise I'd probably be wandering around being freaked out by all the peeples.

I was so mad at Reston for not opening the door when the pounding started on the other side of it! I WANTED TO SEE MONSTER!HOLLOWAY, DAMMIT!

*still has a totally pointless crush on Johnny mostly just because of his writing style*

You could go down to El Cajon, where I used to live. It's about thirty to forty-five minutes away from where I am now, but I don't mind driving down there. But down there, there's a Motel 6, a Holiday Inn (I think that's what it is, it just recently opened), and a Continental Inn, plus some others. Those were just down near the street where I used to live. Wandering around and freaking people is never a bad thing. I didn't dress up as T!Ed this year, but I want to try for that next year. Hello, Transmutey Time~ And maybe as Kaylee from Firefly, too, on another day.

You will be happy when they find Holloway's tapes later~

You seriously wouldn't mind driving all that way for me? It's sorta far... And motels are good. I've stayed in the shittiest motel on the island that was SCARY and I lived and I'm willing to do it again. *arms herself* MOTELS DON'T SCARE ME... much.
I meant more with the people freaking me out... XD And it's funny you wanna go as T!Ed because I'm most definitely going as C!Envy. I decided that when my mom gave me this pair of pants that are like, his. Only... Mine. Bwahaha. And I know I've only seen the school pic of you, but you'd be an adorable Kaylee! I need other costume ideas...

Oh, they did already. That's before all this. And I like how Chad heard him shoot himself. JEEBUS I'm morbid tonight. Okay. PotC2 again. Be back in a couple hours... <3~

I wouldn't mind. I ♥ road trips, even short ones. And El Cajon may be in the ghetto, but it's certainly FAR better than downtown. FAR, FAR BETTER. I still look for something closer, though, but those are there too. Aw, the other people there aren't that bad. They're all silly and smell like geek. Well, except for the guy that was dressed as clown. HE WAS SCARY, OMG. And that would be so awesome if you go as C!Envy, seriously~ You could always go as someone else from Firefly, too? Ooh, or Harry Potter, maybe.

Oh, yeah, duh. I forgot that was before the house ate them. *sucks* Have fun~

Oh, you're the best! Seriously, that's really sweet of you. Omg I'm gonna be staying in the Southern California ghetto alone. I think I'm gonna head over to eBay now and check out the prices on tazers...
OHGODS no clowns, no clowns! And in that case, I will definitely go as C!Envy. Just promise me you'll do T!Ed so I won't feel like a git. I sorta wanna go as Inara and it'd give me an excuse to get some really shiny clothes... Omg, lol. Who could I go as from HP? Not a bad idea...

I don't blame you. This book makes very little chronological sense in places. Especially when the godsdamned footnotes start going circular on you... BAH. You don't suck. <3

Being down there isn't so bad. XD The one Motel 6 was actually pretty nice looking on the oustide, though it's right by the freeway. The others are pretty decent too.

THE CLOWN WAS SCARY. But it's the only time I've ever seen one there. And I will~ I just have to think of how I want to dress up as him, like with that tie and stuff or his 1920s clothes. You could go as Fleur from HP? Just for kicks. And any excuse to wear shiny, pretty clothes is awesome.

Oooh, I know. I would get lost in the footnotes sometimes and have to reread stuff when I finished them.

From: [identity profile] look-alive.livejournal.com
Well that's certainly good to hear. I'm prepared for the worst, because it's what my wallet will supply, but upgrades are always nice.

CLOWNS ARE BAD YES. Oooh, hm... The 20's clothes could be fun, but probably harder to acquire... *cackle* Or you could go as Emo!T!Ed or DeathTarot!T!Ed. *laughs* You just want to torture me with the curtains! *hide* That would actually be really fun, but the wig'd be a bitch to buy since my hair is just below my shoulders and reddish. Hmmm... SHINIES.

Johnny's footnotes are getting better as he gets nuttier. They please me.

From: [identity profile] rsiasta.livejournal.com
Oooh, either of those would be fun to do. XD Heheh, and yeah. I could ask you what would match our house best, bwahaha~ I can see where the hair would be a problem, yeah. I'm just kind of skipping out on wigs with my stuff because I'm lame like that.

There's one later that's the best ever. ♥

From: [identity profile] look-alive.livejournal.com
You're really evil, you know that? And yeah. The only wigs I have are Raito from Deathnote and Gabriel from Constantine and they're both way short. I could pull off C!Envy without one, or else I could just get the longish black to have around because so many chars use it.

Oh noes. *all wanting to get to it now* Whereabouts is it at? ...If you have any idea.

Date: 2006-07-29 10:45 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] rsiasta.livejournal.com
That's true about not having a wig with him. For the T!Ed thing, I'm just going to cut my hair to shoulder length and leave it at that.

I think that part is somewhere towards the end. There's this one part that's all Johnny writing pretty much before going into the end of the Navidson Record.

Is your hair really long now? Heh, this is really absurd, but too bad we can't switch hair! I accidentally ended up with his haircut and let me tell you, the bangs are MADDENING. Growing out a bit now, tho. Been about a year. /grumble. XDD

Oh yeah, okay. I think I know where that is. I haven't gotten there yet (367) but I've flipped through the book and saw what looks like an epic rant. There was this one... Where is it... *flipping through* The paragraph closest to the bottom on pg.327 (I mark the ones I like in yellow. I R Dork) that made me fall in love with him, the writing is so pretty.

From: [identity profile] rsiasta.livejournal.com
Not that long. It's probably about a third down my back now, though it used to be over half-way. Now that was a bitch. XD; And really? Wow. Yeah, I can't imagine my bangs being shorter than the rest of my hair anymore, like his are. It's just kind of weird now.

I think it might have been around there. I don't have my copy sitting here with me, but that sounds about right, I think. And yeah, he does have very pretty writing~

From: [identity profile] look-alive.livejournal.com
Mine used to be like that! Then I chopped it all off in ninth grade and since then it's been various incarnations of around my shoulders. *just measured her bangs* Yup. They're right at my shoulders now, so just short enough to fall out of my ponytail and drive me up the walls (but I feel trendy!!). XD

..."Not even a sound to mark the breaking, let alone the fall. That long anticipated disintegration, when the darkest angel of all, the horror beyond all horrors, sits at last upon my chest, permanently enfolding me in it's great covering wings, black as ink, veined in Bees' purple. A creature without a voice. A voice without a name. As immortal as my life. Come here at long last to summon the wind."
Okay, how much you wanna bet the writers of Silent Hill read House of Leaves?

Date: 2006-07-29 11:12 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] rsiasta.livejournal.com
Yay, trendy~ Argh, and I know what you mean about them falling out of a ponytail. When mine were short and I ever had to tie my hair back, I would go nuts trying to keep my bangs out of my face.

"The novel House of Leaves and its use of impossible physical spaces may have been an influence on the series (especially in Silent Hill 2), with its almost interminable corridors." Off of Wikipedia, so I don't know how true it is, but there you go.

...The things we do in the name of fashion. *extravegant sigh*

...HOLY DAMN I'M PSYCHIC! *is feeling probably more special than she should* That's so cool! The end of that passage just sounded so much like the whole, "I go by many names... I am the Reaper" speech that made me more kinds of happy than I can count. ...You and your Wikiskills

Fashion is a silly thing, o woe. *le sigh*

Heheh, yeah. And the walls in the labyrinth remaind me of some of the stuff in SH, with its ashyness, too. Wiki is also an amusing thing to read when bored. XD;

Says you, Ms.Potential Fashion Major! *runs for the hills*

I agree. The fences remind me a lot of the walls for some reason. I was so glad they included the requisite fences in the movie. You're right about the ashyness, too. And the way things tend to change and shift uncontrollably. Along with lots of Unseen Evil and symbology and whatnot. Oh gods, I sound like a footnote.
