The raptors are coming
May. 24th, 2007 11:28 pmThe past few weeks have been weird.
I've stopped freaking out about graduation. I'm not even worried. Or stressed. Work is under control, I feel pretty confident. I ordered my new laptop which should be here tomorrow so I can get some work done over break.
I'll be on vacation from June 5th to the 14th, and I think I start class again on the 17th or 19th or something. My mom and I are flying in to Providence and renting a car, then driving up through Boston to Gloucester and spending some time with my aunt and uncle up there in the woods. No guarantees on internet. After that, we'll wend our way back to Rhode Island and visit my other aunt and uncle and their little horde of semi-spoiled offspring. Should be interesting, as that neighborhood has a knack for driving me up the walls after two hours. Again, no guarantees on internet but odds are probably higher.
I wanted to see if I could get a train into New York City, but I seriously doubt that, which is annoying because of all the things I missed over break.
Speaking of which, I'm officially single. For real this time. Single as Kraft cheese. And no, that isn't an advertisement. Just... a statement.
I was thinking about how much different everything feels now, as opposed to, I don't even know- maybe just a few months ago. Tonight everyone in my apartment is out and my friends were busy so I just put on a dress and some heels and walked over to Crites to see Kent's senior show. It rocked, btw. A bunch of mini-scenes and monologues and a finale of him singing Marilyn Manson's "Beautiful People" backed by a live band. Much fun. But the weird part is how I didn't mind going alone. Even though that building houses my least favorite department in any college ever. I didn't realize how long it's been since I just walked somewhere alone to do something alone. No one knew where I was, I didn't even ask anyone along. The fact that all of this just occurred to me makes me really wonder where my head's been the past couple of years.
I even figured out how to use my iPod alarm clock.
Hopefully this weekend I'll find someone to take me to/go with me to Pirates 3.
