Okay, it's almost 5am and I'm wide awake. I just finished the Spidey pages which are due at 11 and not only did I do the required four, I DID FIVE! Uhuh, that's right.
I got to the end of the fourth page and realized there was no way in hell Gildersleeve would accept Surprise!Chibi Sailor Scouts busting out of nowhere, so I added a fifth splash page of Spidey and Goblin tied up with Sailor Moon looking all victorious behind them. It's... cavity-inducing. The whole thing is. And I'm not even tired of it. I could draw MORE, if I could think of some way to work it in. And if my hand wasn't cramped into T-Rex position, as my room mate Jen calls it.
I showed the pages in Manga today as part of our little Ed. Day portfolio mock-up and people went gooey. It was so funny. One guy is offering me money for copies. And I've gotten more than a few "This made my day!" 's. Can I gloat now? Pleasepleasepleasepleaseplease? Usually pencilling is like nails on a chalkboard for me and comes out like crap. I really hope 'Sleeve likes them and doesn't find anything TOO terribly wrong. I'm gonna add a lot when I ink, I know. It's so clean and cartoony, I'll probably just use tech pens and lots and lots of templates and straight edges. Cross my fingers I can pull that off.
I'll try to have the pages scanned tomorrow so I can put up the pencils. Tomorrow (today) is going to be nuts. Class, then a couple hours downtime before the panel of editors thing and then Aja and Chris are coming over to work and watch Avatar because Aja and I have an addiction.
Hopefully in this time, I'll finish inking the Batman Beyond (yes, Batman Beyond! :DDDDD) page I chose for Adv. Inks so I can dance it around Will Dennis for DC/Vertigo. I suddenly love that class so hard.
Yawns are starting. Bed is imminent.
