Cats, Shishkebab, and Carnivorous Plants
Sep. 6th, 2005 01:42 pmThis weekend was awesome. On friday, we drove up to North Carolina (longass fucking drive.) and I got to see Lynnsie, who I havent seen in over a year. The best part about that is, we get to see each other in a couple weeks at AWA again!
We went out to eat every day at a different ethnic place. Indian is sooo good. Omg. And the Indonesian and the Mongolian. *drool* I got in touch with my girly side and went on a massive shopping spree with Lynnsie on saturday. Durham isnt a massive tourist-town like Savannah; in fact, its a college town where if you have any sort of student id, you get madcrazy discounts. *LOVE* I got the fabric for my costumes, which I now have to make *into* the costumes (shit). We also went to this awesome Asian imports place and I got myself a handmade ceramic teapot and two cups and a bowl and a vase to put the green tea bamboo that I also bought. It needs a name... Went to Pier 1 and got a net veil thing for my bed and a fuzzy pillow from heaven. Went to some little ethnic shop and got my mom a present and Lynnsie found a gorgeous garnet and silver pendant that she thought I'd like and was incredibly right, so now I have that, too. I cannot resist the shinies. There was also a giant natural food/stuff store where I got a sundew plant. They're carnivorous and eat bugs and stuff. They grow on Kauai in the Alaka'i swamp. And now also in a small pot that I carry around with me to Mongolian bbq restaurants. Its name is Ryuuku. I know one person, not counting Lynnsie who helped me name it, that will get that. Anyway, it was fun.
Other than that... I really really dont like this feeling of not having a home. I've been squatting since I got back, and its nice and all, but I want *my* home. Not someone else's, dammit. I like visiting, but I also like having my own bed. I feel displaced and sort of restless. I havent been sleeping well, or with any regularity. I'm either an insomniac or a narcoleptic, depending, and my body is fucking confused.
