So apparently I'm all about spamming LJ today.
I'm supposed to be sleeping right now, since I woke up around 9 this morning and I have work in three and a half hours. Balls. Oh well. It's a lovely evening and my garden is going crazy, so I think it's high time for a picspam. Enjoy! ♥

Z.

Green tomatoes.

Baby Zucchini.

Thai Basil.

Scarlet Runner Beans. Yesterday I saw a hummingbird drinking from them.

Streptocarpus violets.

Wild violets (not currently flowering).

Black violets.

Confetti flowers.

Miniature yellow roses.

Marigolds and a lily.

Windchimes.

And lastly, this was in a little podunk nowhere town in southern Oregon. It's a little too perfect, and if that isn't awesome enough, check out the realty sign.

Yay garden! Man, Thai basil, that's going to be so useful. I am jealous. I just planted a couple of Asian pear seedlings here a couple weeks ago though - hopefully they grow up enough in the next few months to be repotted nicely.

Can you imagine two tiny squiggly green lines about a milimeter thick and 2/3 of a centimeter long? Yes? Congratulations, that's what they look like! No seriously, there were four of them sprouting in a pear I bought so I planted them in an empty margarine tub but I think two of them drowned because it's been so wet here. So I moved the tub under the porch and hopefully the two survivors will actually grow. It's not really their climate here, though. So we'll see.

Awwwwh, well seedlings are cute, regardless. I'm kind of a sucker for them, which is why I end up conveniently avoiding thinning out my sprouts and reenacting Jumanji on my front porch. Seriously. Robin Williams is like, ten seconds from leaping out of my porch shed in a loincloth.

Also. Also! OMG ZUCCHINI FUCKING WTF?! Like, I was out watering yesterday, and there are something like three little baby zucchini coming along, about three inches at most, and then a bunch more reeeally bitty ones. So I go out and, you know, admire them. About six times a day, and somehow. SOMEHOW. I managed not to see the one that's the size OF A SMALL TRUCK. Until yesterday. It was all sneaky-like, growing over the far side of the pot.
It actually made me jump.
