...Now that thats taken care of...
This weekend was craaaazy. Saw lots of sad movies (Serenity, Corpse Bride, King Arthur uncut) and did lots of homework, including playing around with a DAT recorder for my sound design class to get audio footage for messing with in ProTools on thursday. No class tomorrow!! I'm taking the recorder out again just to get the cicadas by the canal *is so weirdly obsessed with cicadas, thank you Evangelion*.
Ooooh, and I've discovered an new anime that I actually dont mind watching randomly (the only new stuff I've seen in the last year are FMA, Naruto, Chrno Crusade, and Samurai Champloo, with a couple eps of Bleach and some other stuff here and there. I'm getting piiiicky.). Kino's Journey is awesome. Its so morbid and creepy with this light, optimistic sort of overtone. Gets right to the point, too, but very very gracefully. Lots of finesse. Doesnt throw anything at you or bombard you with things. It also doesnt preach at you, like with moralistic storylines or endings to eps. Too much stuff does that these days. Even stuff I love, like Fruits Basket. Kino's is just sorta there for you to pick up. I have a lot of respect for that. Many things about it also remind me of FMA. Especially the last couple episodes. It deals a lot with irony and the gullibility of people in large groups. Also on the darker side of human nature. Episode three, not for the squeamish (think cannibalism...)
I would just like to thank NetFlix for rocking my world and not making me have to pay a gazillion dollars to see this stuff. I've wanted to see Kino's for sooo long. I'm also getting Le Portrait de Petite Cosette, thanks to that amv in the amateur expos at AWA. Room of Angel is such a good song. I'm glad they did it justice.
My musical fixation of the moment is Collide. Crazysexy music. Yumyum.
Today I had my first thought about double-majoring and I am SCARED. I dont think I will. It would be in Sound Design and MPRA Design (theater tech. Also covers some light and sound design, like the class I have now.). But looking at the course curriculum, I dont know... I have to talk to my advisor. I dont wanna be here more than another five quarters after this! I know I'm really young to be getting senior stat next quarter (thank you, transfer creds...), but I still dont wanna be in school that long!! ... Or do i?
