oooh, I'm so very looking forward to it! :D I don't have a favourite thing to draw these days. I used to be madly into rainbow gradients, but that was back when I used watercolour a lot. I think you're right re: you and detail being like me and colour. Colour is basically my favourite thing to play with; i like to try to figure out how to make colours that shouldn't go together, work. Balancing them with other colours, and the like, till suddenly it's pretty. I don't so much paint to create something awesome, but more, to mix colours (digital art has nothing on the fun I have mixing paint. )
Also that acrylic thing sounds pretty awesome. For inking I mostly just use my fude pens now that I'm not in uni writing japanese!essays with them every other day, i may as well use them for inking right? :D they're like, subtle!brush pens, for writing characters all tiny like, but still with the flourish brush pens give.
I know the vine dresses were... probably late last year? I assume that's ... the fall2010 collection (so like, in my spring? i get confused.)
and I think what I liked about circus was that it was so ridiculously over the top. They did not need back up dancers and huge set design, but they had it. It was theatrical, and idk, brought something extra to the show. (but I loved all their more subtle dandy!outfits too. i just like costumes? it always inspired me to like, run with it. Ryan ross dressing like a dandy just basically cemented 'bandom is for regency au art' in my head.)
