HA! \o/ "No really! It's very academic!" ...actually, maybe it'd slide just on the grounds of a few angst fics I'm aware of basically objectifying and exploiting shit that is totally relevant to my classes and so if I wrote some kind of scathing commentary term paper maybe they'd let it slide... hmmm... must not seriously consider doing this MUST NOT
Lol you saw pictures? Awesome. Yeah, it was basically horrifying in the best ways. Especially the entirely unrelated part where I was waiting to meet a friend outside before going into Macy's and there was some weird festival thing happening that had State Street all cordoned off, and there was a group of 20 or so middle-aged suburban housewife-types jazzercising in the middle of the road to Ready To Go (Get Me Out Of My Mind). Of all the times NOT to have a video camera.
do it! Scathing commentary term paper ftw! \o/ :D And No Really! It's Very Academic! should be your title. ;)
You know, I just want to know what Mike Carden is doing now...I mean, Sisky is playing Bass in Say Anything, Bill is off doing is solo project, Michael Guy is whoring himself to other bands and Butcher is alternating between percussion for Cobra and The Animal Upstairs. WHERE IS THE MIKE, PEOPLE?!?!?!
What a time not to have a video camera! lol I remember walking through Suzy Shear one time (womens' clothing store) and Patrick Stump's 'This City' started blarring overhead, I know I had a 'wtf' face on me when that happened. Because really who expects Patrick stump signing in a women's clothing store? WHO!
*grumblegrumble* Yeah, I wanna do it and then I wanna slam it in sections into comments in certain fics with all of the high horse-riding judgey side-eye footstomping I can convey through text. ...Not that I have like, opinions or anything. :D
Well, he was playing guitar for Beckett in October... He wasn't at the show on December 30th, which surprised me a little, so... idk. I wonder if he's even still in the area. (For the record, Tom and Sean used to live above the liquor store a few blocks away back when I basically gave the place half my paycheck. This will crack me up til the day I die.)
oh OH oops posted too soon- DUDE PATRICK STUMP IN A STORE! YAY! I swear I get that song stuck in my head every time I go outside. It's Magnificent. Speaking of live shows. ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
I thought he lived in LA with his girlfriend Emma? Is he still dating her? Maybe Mike has become her pool boy...(That is awesome! Chicago is such a hotbed of famous muscians...*flops* I wanna like live there now)
lol, sorry I guess I mistyped, he wasn't in the store, but his voice was coming over the sound system, I guess it was a CD someone popped in or a 'store CD' that repeats songs, etc.
I have no idea. Like, I know basically nothing about him other than his playing guitar in TAI, which, YAY! But yeah.
Famous musicians are one thing, but the badassery of our music scene is pretty much unbeatable. Patrick Stump especially makes me happy, just with his completely unabashed pride and love affair with the city. I'm mostly on par with that, so it's fun to basically have a whole album of songs- FOB and its similar persuasions too, for that matter- that basically reflect ALL OF MY FEEEELINGS about this town. reni_days looooves to tease me mercilessly about the world-sized hearteyes I have for Chicago, but she just doesn't understand. Sigh.
Oh! Nono I got it, sorry, I was typing really fast because I was editing the comment and didn't want you to reply before I fixed it. No, I understood. That's AWESOME, though! Like, that places play his solo stuff. I'm so happy for him that he's rocking out again.
I really hope he does come up with something or creates a band...MIIIIKE!!! COME BACK! I WANT TO STARE AT YOUR FOREARMS AGAIN THROUGH PRETTY PRETTY PICTURES!!
Hee! I was never much into the music scene here in Winnipeg, the most I know The Guess Who came from here and there is this one band called Inward Eye, I went to school with two of them, and their music is kick ass, very punk-rockish. Hee! Hey, you know what! Feel pride! Be badass! CHICAGO!! *rock fingers* :D
Oh good! lol sometimes I type stuff out and then I look at it later and someone has replied to it and the comment makes no sense and then I'm like 'what did I write?!?!?!' O.o
